The Ugly Furnace Contest Winner Revealed Today by Key Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 12/17/18

The Winner of the “UGLY FURNACE CONTEST” to

    Receive the Gift of Warmth

Winners of Key Heating & Air Conditioning “Ugly Furnace” Contest, to receive heating system prize worth $10K

Exeter, NH, 12/17/18 –With 100 plus submissions from around Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts Key excitedly announced the winner. Jennifer Wilcox beat out all the entries to win the title of UGLY FURNACE 2018 and won a free furnace courtesy of Key Heating & Air Conditioning. My, that furnace sure is ugly, has never been quite the compliment as it is today and it and surely paid to be ugly. The Wilcox family will receive the heating system just in time as New Hampshire faces an usually earlier than normal winter. Recent temperature and wind chills have highlighted the need for a working furnace.

“This is something we shared in as a company, the joy of being able to offer a deserving family the gift of warmth” said owner, Jon Sherrill. General Manager, Marie Sherrill shared the history of this program, stating “For this year’s contest we partnered with Seacoast Media to help us get the word out and it was a huge success with over 100 entries. It has been a banner year for us. With winning the Best of The Seacoast: Best HVAC Company, and also celebrating our 25th year anniversary in business we gave a lot of thought to how best to celebrate. What better way than to give a gift that improves the quality of life for one local family. We are thrilled for the Wilcox family and look forward to repeating our efforts next fall for another local family.

The Wilcox family, live in Kittery, ME, and their furnace was chosen as ugliest of all. Says Jennifer Wilcox, “We are now a family seven and this means so much to us. Thank you so much Key Heating for this amazing gift. This made our Christmas.” Vice President and Service Manager, Alex Sherrill, shares in the winning family’s excitement but also states “Servicing furnaces is a big component of our business, and we understand that replacing a heating system is a big investment. A good tip, and something we always recommend, is the smaller investment of annual maintenance and recommended cleanings.

It definitely helps extend the life of many systems. We are so glad to help The Wilcox family stay warm for many years to come.

Key was very thorough, took the time to go to each contestants home to evaluate each entry finally whittling it down to the ugliest furnace of them all. “Our intention was to give a worthy family this gift. At the time folks entered the contest all contestants were given the opportunity to sign up, for free, our maintenance membership program for annual services as well . And because everyone can’t win a new system we offered each contestant $500 toward a future replacement” said Marie Sherrill. Jon Sherrill adds, “We love our community, we would not be in business for 25 years nor win Best of Seacoast without our customers we look forward to doing it again in the years to come.”
