FREE SKIN CANCER SCREENINGS OFFERED IN APRIL AND MAY 2019 by Seacoast Dermatology

SEACOAST, NH — The month of May is “National Melanoma and Skin Cancer Awareness Month,” and Seacoast Dermatology PLLC is encouraging residents of all ages to include skin cancer screenings as part of their annual health checkups.

Dr. Andrew E. Werchniak, former Medical Director of Brigham & Women’s/Dana Farber Cancer Institute Skin Cancer Screening Program, relates the importance of annual skin cancer screenings… “Skin cancer screenings by an experienced board-certified dermatology provider are often overlooked as part of a patient’s annual health testing routine, but we know that early detection plays a key role in successful outcomes.”

Werchniak further explains “Skin cancers are the most common form of cancer in the United States—and while these cancers can affect anyone at any age, AAD statistics reveal a significant increase in skin cancer diagnosis in young adults under age forty—especially young women. A simple full-body visual screening is easy, takes only a few minutes—and can literally save lives.”

Seacoast Dermatology, PLLC is offering three free skin cancer screening clinics. Area residents are encouraged to make an appointment, but walk-in’s welcome. Please call Seacoast Dermatology at 603-431-5205 to schedule your free screening or visit seacoastdermnh.com more information.
