Rock, Paper, Scissors: 50 Years of Exeter Fine Crafts
September 7-October 15, 2016 Reception: Friday, September 16, 5-7 pm Gallery Talk: Saturday, September 17, 10 am Celebrate the work of the hand and the heart in Rock, Paper, Scissors. The exhibition, which commemorates the 50 year anniversary of Exeter Fine Crafts (EFC), features fiber art, jewelry and metal work, printmaking, glass, clay, woodworking, beading and much more by member artists from across New England. New Hampshire has a rich tradition of supporting and promoting fine craft, which has been a catalyst for social, civic, and economic development throughout the state. EFC opened in downtown Exeter in 1966 as an outgrowth of the Exeter Home Industries Group and as a satellite gallery for the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen. Throughout its history, EFC’s mission has remained the same: to preserve and promote handcrafted arts and craftspeople in New England so they continue to be a visible, vital and cherished part of our cultural heritage. Through its gallery and educational programming, EFC raises public awareness the value of craft throughout the decades and into the future. Come see the unique artistry of over 60 craftspeople working today. Visit the Lamont Gallery and the Exeter Fine Crafts (www.exeterfinecrafts.com) websites to learn more about additional programs and events during this special anniversary exhibition. Gallery Hours: Monday by appointment, Tuesday-Friday, 9-5. Saturday 10-4.
