4th Annual Walk A Mile For Racial Unity
Exeter’s fourth annual Walk a Mile for Racial Unity will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018. Beginning at 9:00 a.m., the public is invited. This year’s program is a call to stand strong against racism in every form and to engage in honest conversation about race. If you are interested in being a volunteer at the event email the Racial Unity Team. Organizers have planned the following program Walk a Mile for Racial Unity: Join a group at 9:00, 10:00 or 11:00 and take a guided walking tour, learning about the racial history of the people of Exeter. After the walk, share your thoughts in small group discussions and in writing on the community board. Racial Unity Art Exhibit: “Requiem for Mother Emanuel” Nine works created by artist Leo Twiggs in the aftermath of the murders in 2015 at the AME Church in Charleston, SC “Culture Keepers | Culture Makers” Art expressing racial diversity and unity “The Art of Richard Haynes” Music on the Stage: Listen to musicians sing about racial unity, racial diversity and inclusion and their hope and desire for the future of our nation. Town Hall Meeting 12:00-1:00 PM Featuring Rogers Johnson, Governor’s Advisory Council on Diversity and Inclusion Chairman Hear what’s happening in NH’s racial relations. Ask your questions.
