The economic forecast is a great event for business people active in planning for the new year. Our forecast will provide you with information that you can leverage and alert you to potential obstacles for which you can prepare. Ninety minutes on a cold January morning will be time well spent planning for 2018.
We are pleased to present two acclaimed speakers for this year's economic forecast.
Taylor Caswell, NH State Commission of the Department of Business and Economic Affairs and Darren Winham, Town of Exeter Director of Economic Development.
Mr Caswell most recently served as executive director of the NH Community Development Finance Authority, the statewide public agency that provides technical and financial resources to community and economic development programs. Previously a regional administrator at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development during the administration of President George W. Bush, Caswell also has worked as a congressional staffer and co-founded the NH Clean Tech Council.
Caswell — who founded PRKR MTN Trails, a nonprofit community-based network of 25 miles of multi-use trails in Littleton — spends free time mountain biking, climbing, hiking and skiing in the rugged White Mountain terrain.
Darren Winham has spent his career in community development, first in mid-coast Maine, then leading economic development for Lassen County, California, as well as Barre and Waterbury, VT. Darren is experienced evaluating grants learned while working for the U.S. Department of Labor in Washington D.C.
Darren Winham leads the Town's economic development efforts and has significantly increased the town's tax base.
His areas of expertise include working with prospective new businesses and expansion of existing businesses.
Mr Caswell will provide information on a state wide basis and Mr Winham on a local level. This promises to be one of our most informative forecasts to date.
